China granted 530,000 invention patents in 2020, and the number of invention patents per 10,000 people reached 15.8, exceeding the target of the country's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), the National Intellectual Property Administration said on Sunday. It added that the number of international patent applications filed by Chinese applicants through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) reached 69,000, ranking first in the world.
