In 1939, the Northwest Youth National Salvation Federation of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region designated May 4 as the Chinese Youth Day.

In 2017, Xi'an launched a one-million talents program, and finally saw the introduction of one millionth "new youths" at the end of 2018.

Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty, once the center of the world and the grandest city at that time, drew the attention of the whole world.
