The Shaanxi Provincial Gymnasium looks pretty kinetic but also elegant from a distance, just like a piece of silver silk. Apart from daily sports, the venue can also meet the training needs of wrestling, judo, and fencing. Xi'an Metro Line 6 and Line 8 set up the "Shaanxi Provincial Gymnasium" station particularly for the convenience of the citizens.

         

The Xianyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium looks similar to the Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium in Beijing, thus known as the "Little Bird's Nest". The stadium applies the element and concept of Jiuding, Soldier's Armor, and high tower, ending up with upward green slope, palace pillars, and roof with double eaves.

Venues by mountains and water

         

Xi'an Olympic Sports Center Stadium, which looks like a blossoming steel flower from a distance is built for the opening and closing ceremonies. The venue draws inspiration from the pomegranate flower, city flower of Xi'an, with 28 V-shaped pillars like 28 petals, which means "the thriving of the Silk Road, the flower of a peaceful world".

         

Chang'an Changning Ecological Sports Training and Competition Base nestles on the north side of the Qinling Mountains. Surrounded by verdant rolling hills and winding rive, the training base is quiet with the building complex in unique traditional Chinese style.

Venues in universities

 

         

Among the gymnasiums in local universities, the Invengo Gymnasium of Xidian University is probably the most interesting one, which is jokingly called the "big golden bowl" because of its bowl-like appearance. In fact, its design is inspired by "radar antenna". It echoes with the long training hall to form a pattern of "a circle and a bar", which implies the binary code  "0 and 1" in computer language.

         

The Northwestern University Stadium is shaped like a white sailboat and a yurt, symbolizing openness and tolerance of Xi'an, the starting point of the Silk Road, and the promising future after "setting sail".
