The Qinhan branch of Shaanxi History Museum recently launched its trial opening!
Visitors crowded around the branch on Dec 30 when it had just opened.The branch is located in the Qinhan New City of the Xixian New Area, adjacent to the National Heritage Park of the Xianyang City in the Qin Dynasty. The branch is laid out referring to the allocation of stars within the Big Dipper, with seven main buildings connected by corridors. The museum covers an area of about 300 mu, with a total construction area of 39809 square meters and an exhibition area of 10362 square meters. It houses a total of 732 pieces (sets) of cultural relics for display.
The branch is currently the only museum in China that focuses on the origins, development, and contributions of the Qin and Han civilization. It is based on the collection of the Shaanxi History Museum and relies on archaeological evidence to showcase the foundational role of the Qin and Han civilization in the development of Chinese civilization.
The exhibition is divided into six units and eight sections, narrating the achievements and contributions of the Qin and Han Dynasties in the development of Chinese civilization from the aspects of political system, economic development, ideological foundation, cultural innovation, technological advancement, and mutual exchange. It showcases the level of the development of the Qin and Han civilization.The entire exhibition incorporates nine multimedia installations, which complement the physical artifacts and thus create a sense of ritual in the entire space.
Opening hours:Open daily from 10:00 to 16:30, with last entry at 16:00.
During the trial opening period, the branch will be closed for renovations on Tuesdays (excluding national holidays).
Opened area during the trial period:The open area of the branch is from the South Gate Tower to the exhibition area of Building 3. Only the exhibition hall themed with "Civilization of Qin and Han Dynasties" is open to the public. Other areas are temporarily closed to the public.
During the trial opening, entry is free for the public, and no reservation is required, yet personal ID or other valid credentials are still needed. Visitors may enter the branch after passing through security checks.
