Today is the Qixi Festival, a traditional Chinese holiday originating from ancient times, also known as China’s Valentine’s Day. It embodies the sincere romantic sentiments of the Chinese people. Let’s explore this festival together and delve into more of its cultural essence.

The Qixi Festival dates back to ancient times, flourished in the Western Han, and peaked during the Song Dynasty. Rooted in the worship of celestial phenomena, time, and numbers, it was linked to the legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl as early as the Book of Songs. By the Eastern Han, the tale was vividly personified: "On the seventh night, the Weaver Girl crosses the river on a bridge of magpies." In 2006, Qixi was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in China. Its simple yet colorful customs weave together craftsmanship, love of life, and romantic imagination, leaving a timeless imprint on the hearts of the Chinese people.
