Recently, Ctrip's overseas platform Trip.com officially launched a dual ranking system: Trip.Best China Wonder and Trip.Best Global Traveller-Picked List. It showcases hundreds of world-class cultural and travel experiences in China to audiences across 24 countries. Xi'an, alongside Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Zhangjiajie, has made it onto the Global Traveller-Picked List

This newly launched inbound tourism ranking introduces an innovative "national + urban" dual-track system, breaking away from traditional single-model travel lists. Centered on a national perspective, Trip.Best China Wonder curates globally renowned cultural and tourism resources unique to China. It features ten themed lists—covering spectacular landscapes, ancient heritage, immersive performances, luminous vistas, and intangible cultural heritage experiences—showcasing China's top-tier, must-visit destinations.

Targeting immersive urban experiences, Trip.Best Global Traveller-Picked List draws on big data of international visitors' bookings, consumption and reviews. Combining four evaluation dimensions — urban cultural characteristics, popularity among overseas tourists, public reputation and international service standards, it selects popular travel resources covering hotels, scenic spots and local cuisine, offering authoritative and practical travel references for global visitors planning trips to China.

Among the listed cities, Xi'an stands out in inbound cultural tourism. World heritage sites like the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, Xi'an City Wall, and Giant Wild Goose Pagoda have long attracted tourists from Europe, America, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. Beyond traditional museums, immersive experiences—such as performances at Grand Tang Everbright City, Hanfu sightseeing, and Tang-style court music and dance—are growing in popularity. These integrated Tang-dynasty scenes, blending ancient charm with modern vitality, appeal to young overseas travelers seeking immersive, participatory experiences.

Leveraging the benefits of the 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy and an expanding network of international air routes, Xi'an keeps improving international supporting services including multilingual guides, overseas bank card payment and tax refund upon departure, removing barriers for foreign visitors.

As more overseas tourists visit China, they face language barriers, scattered information, and inconsistent service standards. To address this, Ctrip's new dual-ranking system uses international-friendly language and multi-language versions. With intuitive formats—such as global landmark comparisons, popularity ratings, and highlights—it integrates top tourism resources nationwide, creating a one-stop, standardized travel guide for international visitors.

For Xi'an, being featured on the Global Traveller-Picked List will further expand its overseas promotion channels and attract more long-haul international tourists. Meanwhile, the city can rely on the ranking to polish international-oriented tourism offerings and upgrade comprehensive foreign-related services, helping China's cultural and tourism industry better meet the demands of global visitors.
