Xinchou (2021) Qingming Festival Memorial Ceremony for the Yellow Emperor

Collect the power of the Chinese nation and launch the new journey of national rejuvenation, Xinchou (2021) Qingming Festival Memorial Ceremony for the Yellow Emperor was held.

Guests who attended the ceremony included Ji Bingxuan, Liu Guozhong, Han Yong, Tan Tianxing, Long Mingbiao, Cheng Xueyuan, Hu Henghua and others. Zhao Yide, Governer of Shaanxi Province, delivered the memorial address.

As the Qiaoshan Mountain towers into the sky, the Yellow Emperor's virtue was largely extended. On the morning of April 4th, the highly-expected Xinchou (2021) Qingming Festival Memorial Ceremony for the Yellow Emperor was held at the Sacrificial Square of the Mausoleum. The worshiping ceremony was also held in Taiwan simultaneously, which was live among both sides.

At the Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum, which is on the Qiaoshan Mountain along the Juhe River, the representatives from all parties participating in this public worshiping ceremony lined up solemnly. Under the guidance of the honor guard, the procession marched along the Xuanyuan Bridge and Longwei Road, slowly entering the Xuanyuan Temple and taking their place in the designated area of the Sacrificial Square. At the Sacrificial Square, 56 dragon flags symbolizing the unity of the Chinese nation fluttered in the wind, and the atmosphere was solemn.

At 9:50, Liang Gui,member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, Executive Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province, and Director of the Working Committee of Public Memorial Ceremony for the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum , who presided over the memorial ceremony, announced the start of the 2021 Qingming Festival Memorial Ceremony for the Yellow Emperor.

Drum beats were powerful and bell rings were resonating. The 34 drumbeats symbolized the common aspiration held by China’s 34 regions, including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, as well as all overseas Chinese to worship the ancestor of the Chinese nation. The 9 bell rings represented the highest level of traditional rituals of the Chinese nation, expressing the infinite admiration and gratitude of all Chinese people to their ancestor, the Yellow Emperor. The ceremony continued with the Ode to the Yellow Emperor resounding around the venue.

Against the backdrop of solemn memorial music, Ji Bingxuan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of The National People’s Congress presented a flower tribute to the statue of the Yellow Emperor. Then Liu Guozhong, Secretary of CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, Standing Committee of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress presented a flower basket on the behalf of CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, Standing Committee of The National People’s Congress, Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the CPPCC and all walks of life in Shaanxi.

Others who presented the flower basket include Tan Tianxing, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, Long Mingbiao, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and Cheng Xueyuan, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese on behalf of their communities. Yao Aixing, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the CPPCC, Vice Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Central Committee, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region; Zhou Chunyan, Deputy Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Henan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC; Chen Qing, Deputy Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the CPPCC; Li Xiaobo, Vice Chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Committee presented flower baskets on behalf of the democratic parties, central and state institutes, various organizations, and fraternal provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. Li Yunyan, Director of the Chengdu Economic and Trade Office of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR; Zheng Haiming, Vice President of the Shaanxi Chamber of Commerce in Macau; Yang Hongpeng, President of the Xi’an Office of the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprise on the Mainland; Liang Guanjun, Vice Chairman of China Overseas Friendship Association, Xue Jingli, Vice Chairman of China Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Shaanxi Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, presented flower baskets on behalf of compatriots in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and overseas Chinese.

Zhao Gang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Yan'an Municipal Party Committee, and Meng Zhonghua, director of the Management Committee of the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum Cultural Park of Shaanxi Province and secretary of the Huangling County Party Committee of CPC presented the flower basket on behalf of all protectors of the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor.

Later, Zhao Yide, the Governor of Shaanxi Province delivered the memorial address, followed by three deep bows of all representatives to the statue of the Yellow Emperor.

Next part was grand memorial music and dance performance, where a 56-meter-long Chinese dragon hovered and leaped from the center of the altar into the sky, carrying the infinite reverence and gratitude of the descendants of Yan and Yellow Emperor to look up to the ancestors and the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation!

After the ceremony, all the participants were guided to visit the Xuanyuan Hall and the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor, then planted Qiaoshan cypresses.
