Caijiapo Village in Huyi District, Xi'an City is located at the foot of Qinling Mountain, with the Guanzhong Mountain-Touring Highway passing through it. The village, with 3,627 villagers in 1,016 households, is embedded with simple folk style and pleasant seasons.

Years ago, for the collective economy of the village was relatively weak, the infrastructure here was inadequate. Nowadays, the spacious and clean streets, newly painted cultural walls, clean houses and rows of green trees are everywhere, showing the new image of the village.

The figure depicted in the painting is Mr. Zhang Yongsheng, formerly a leading member of the Culture Propagating Group. 

The figure in the painting is Mr. Zhao Deyuan who is in his nineties, and he is a veteran.                 

For the art works demonstrated everywhere, they just involve so many themes, such as village culture, folk customs, farming culture and featured industries, sending both aesthetic vibe and educational messages. Various site views can be captured in the village with unique styles. While wandering on the streets, you may have the illusion of walking into a picture.

Founded in 2018, the Guanzhong Harvest Arts Festival is jointly organized by Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts and the People's Government of Shijing Township in Huyi District. Via comprehensive presentations of exhibition art, folk art and earth art, this series event has turned wheat fields into art spaces and exhibition sites, igniting the intrinsic power of rural culture through art.     

Huyi District and Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts jointly carried out this transboundary cooperation, holding the first, second and third Guanzhong Harvest Arts Festival in 2018, 2019 and 2021 respectively, lighting up the traditions of celebrating Guanzhong Harvest Festival through art.

Students from the Department of Experimental Art of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, together with artists from all over the country, turned the wheat field into an art space, backed by the Zhongnan Mountain and the natural earth. Here they created various types of art works such as earth art, straw sculpture, installation, painting and graffiti, integrating the art scene and the wheat field, also bringing the vibe of art and literature to the Caijiapo Village.
