The Best Dutch Book Design China Tour is happening in Xi'an!

       

The Best Dutch Book Design, organized by the Stichting De Best Verzorgde Boeken annually, has become a favorite among the Dutch graphic design community.

In addition to the annual selection and the catalog released, the core of this event is the exhibition and award ceremony at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, which is renowned worldly for its collection of contemporary art images and related exhibitions.

The Best Dutch Book Design held at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in 2020 

This time, as the tour arrives in Xi'an, it will showcase the diverse development of the Dutch book printing industry before the global outbreak of COVID-19, as well as its observation of the world, and the design trends in the current era. This exhibition will present the most beautiful Dutch books from 2015 to 2019, crossing four exhibition years, also with the highest number of books on display among other domestic tours held so far.

In the exhibition hall, you can see the introduction and award-winning commentary for each of the selected books, then you will find out the nature of these books, transcending the language barrier. 

About the Best Dutch Book Design, what else do you know?

       

As the first competition of its kind in Europe, the Best Dutch Book Design has been launched since 1926. Every year, more than 300 books from the Dutch publishers, designers and printers participate in this selection event. In the end, over 30 featured books will stand out upon the evaluation by a professional jury based on design excellence, printing and binding techniques, and the collaboration between designer and client, presented as the most beautiful book designs in the Netherlands.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China and the Stichting De Best Verzorgde Boeken jointly brought the Best Dutch Book Design to China for the first time in 2016.
