Located in the northwest corner of Ningqiang County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, Qingmuchuan Scenic Area is situated at the junction of Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan provinces. 

The staggered ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the well-preserved ancestral halls and temples, the natural wonders and scenery, and the spectacular natural forest together make this magical land shine with a refreshing history and natural ecological charm.

Huilongchang Old Street   

          

The Huilongchang Old Street is the core building complex of the scenic area, which was built in the Ming Dynasty 600 years ago, with 260 ancient buildings currently preserved. This historical and cultural heritage can not be recreated.

Rongshengkui             

Rongshengkui was a place of leisure and entertainment for merchants from Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan provinces back then, and it is one of the few boat-shaped buildings in China.  

The Huilongchang Old Street stretches 800 meters long from south to north, and most of the buildings on the whole street are richly ornamented, presenting profound craftsmanship.

Wei's Residence

The courtyard of Wei Futang, a bold and risk-loving hero in the last century.

The old courtyard is elegant and cozy. 

And the relatively new part is in Western-style.   

The Wei's Residence plays both roles as military defense and an office, and it is a rare iconic building domestic and abroad that combines the Eastern and Western building styles.

Natural Landscape

Within the Qingmuchuan Nature Reserve, the winding ancient Tea Horse Road, elegant and peculiar cliff carvings, and lush forest sea all highlight the unique and ancient charm of this area. The 220,000-mu forest area, the mild natural climate and the excellent ecological environment here are all generous gifts granted by the nature.

The Qiang Culture  

Ningqiang County has been the settlement of the Qiang ethnic group since ancient times. Nowadays, here lives one clan with the most traditional Qiang culture among other over a hundred clans back then.

               

Every Qiang girl here can embroid. For thousands of years, the wise Qiang people have incorporated their wisdom and culture into this wonderful Qiang embroidery skill, which has been passed down from generation to generation.

From the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China, a large number of folks from nearby regions brought in various cultures. Here all kinds of cultures collided, absorbed and mingled with each other, also integrating with the civilization of local farming, nature and ecology, then developing into this unique Qingmuchuan culture. In this way, the place now is a fertile ground for diverse and colorful folklore.
