Asia-Europe Young Leaders Campus opens in Xi'an

From Nov 29th to 30th, the first Asia-Europe Young Leaders Campus and Asia-Europe Youth Forum on Green Development were held in Xi'an. Over 100 young representatives from Asian and European countries attended the forum online.

Themed "Building Global Partnership for Green Development," the two-day event features an opening ceremony, themed speech, roundtable dialogue, group discussion and group presentation. During the Asia-Europe Youth Forum on Green Development on Nov 29th, representatives from the Asia-Europe Fund, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Tsinghua University and other organizations shared their views on Asia-Europe energy cooperation, green investment, environmental protection, and green infrastructure construction.

In the roundtable dialogue and panel discussion session, youth representatives from 30 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Singapore, Malaysia and China, discussed and exchanged topics such as developing green energy, improving ecosystem quality, responding to climate change, protecting biodiversity, and strengthening youth participation, sharing and displaying the views and experiences of Asian and European youth on green development.

Fu Zhenbang, vice president of the All-China Youth Federation, said that green development is a key area to accelerate the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and promote common global development. He hopes that young people in Asia and Europe will actively exchange ideas, forge friendships and strengthen cooperation to jointly build a beautiful world and a better future.

The event is hosted by the All-China Youth Federation and the organizing committee of the World Youth Development Forum. Activities such as "cloud visit" of Yangling Smart Agriculture Valley and the annual meeting upon stories of the "Belt and Road" youths were also held.
