On the morning of October 29, 2023 Xi'an Marathon started at the Yongning Gate, and 35,000 runners from all over the world gathered in Xi'an to experience the unique cultural charm of this city.

Founded in 2017, Xi'an Marathon was awarded the "Road Race Elite Label" by World Athletes in 2021. This year, the event ushered in its sixth anniversary, attracting 143712 runners from all over the world to sign up, and 35,000 runners were selected through lot drawing.

Upon the exciting competition, Dong Guojian won the men's event with 2:10:44, Gao Chengliang and Ma Wenliang won the second and third places respectively, with scores of 2:15:07 and 2:16:10; The women's marathon champion went to Yang Hua with 2:40:24, Wang Min and Zhu Dandan won the second and third places respectively, with the scores of 2:40:24 and 2:40:25.

The starting point of the race was set at the Yongning Gate, passing through the Bell Tower, East Avenue, Daming Palace National Heritage Park, Bahe East Road, Hedi Road, Bahe Bridge and other featured sites. The ending point of the half marathon is located at the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center, and the finish point of the marathon is located at the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center.

In addition to offline runners, runners from all over the country also participated in this national running festival online (running in other places or cities, but with the final running score uploaded online via the running app). This creative mode largely strengthens the spirit of Xi'an Marathon and motivates various runners to participate in the event.

There are a total of 20 supply stations along the route, each equipped with a medical station. There are also a number of cooling spray facilities set up during the second half of the route. At the finish line of the full marathon and half marathon, the organizing committee also arranged 280 stretch therapists to provide professional stretching and relaxation recovery services.
