A couple of days ago, at the construction site of Xian Metro Line 8, located on the south side of Yuandengge Road, two fully automatic A-type electric metro trains were just delivered from Dalian. With their debut, all preparations for the operation of Metro Line 8 are in an orderly progression.      

In the passenger cabin, the color "wheat yellow" highlights the entire carriage. Compared with the seats of other metro lines, the seats of Metro Line 8 boast a curved backrest design that fits people's body curves more closely.One of the surprises is that four middle carriages of the train are equipped with the cell phone charging area, which offers free wireless charging devices and USB charging port. 

Metro Line 8 is the most important backbone line in Xi'an's rail transit network, also the only loop line in the network. The line runs through five administrative districts, including Yanta District, Xincheng District, Baqiao District, Weiyang District, Lianhu District, and five new development zones, including Xi'an Hi-Tech District, Qujiang New Area, Chanba Ecological District, Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Daxing New Area. Metro Line 8 is directly connected with Metro Line 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Up to now, the main structures of 35 of the 37 stations are capped.The main route of Metro Line 8 is located between the 2nd Ring Road and the 3rd Ring Road of the city, which can thus be regarded as the "metro ring of the city", or as the "2.5 Ring: The Golden Belt". The line plays a major role in the future of Xi'an's rail transportation and is expected to be opened for operation in 2025.
