The branch venues of the 2024 Spring Festival Gala, organized by China Central Television, were announced recently. Xi'an was chosen as a sub-venue of the gala that will help to present a cultural feast on Chinese New Year's Eve, along with Shenyang in Liaoning Province, Changsha in Hunan Province, and Kashgar in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The 2024 Spring Festival Gala will adopt a "1+4" model, with one main venue and four sub-venues. Through integrated design, artistic interpretation, and refined presentation, the show aims to seamlessly align the sub-venues with the main venue, showcasing the rich folk culture from all over the country and highlighting the diverse elements of the new era.

Actually, Xi'an was already chosen as the sub-venue of the Spring Festival Gala 8 years ago. During the Spring Festival Gala in 2016, inside the Xi'an City Wall, the sub-venue of the gala, the beauty of various countries along the Silk Road and traditional Chinese cultural customs were displayed via splendid lantern shows. Major elements of Shaanxi culture, including Shaanxi folk customs, Tang Music, Yulin Waist Drums, and Hancheng Marching Drums, were incorporated into the show.

Xi'an, the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, has a rich history, a profound cultural atmosphere, vigorous scientific and technological innovation capabilities, and rapidly developing modern industries.

The city aims to present a Spring Festival cultural scene through wonderful performances, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere.
