From January 18 to March 9, based on Chinese traditional festivals such as the Laba Festival, Little New Year, Chinese New Year's Eve, and Lantern Festival, the "Spring Festival in Xi'an" series event will launch 6 major themed events and 9 sub-activities, presenting a culturally distinctive Spring Festival to the public.

6 major themed events to highlight the city charm

The six major themed events all center around the Chinese traditional culture, fully absorbing the colorful intangible cultural heritage of Xi'an. 

Lantern Show

11 featured lantern shows will be held at Daming Palace, Grand Tang All Day Mall, Xi'an City Wall, and Tang Paradise.

Cultural performances

34 cultural performances will be held at the theatres and entertainment blocks of the city.

Folk culture

33 local intangible cultural heritage-based performances and exhibitions will be held.

Museum exploration

24 museum exploring activities will be held, and "online museum touring" is also included.

Local delicacy tasting

18 featured activities presenting the local family dinner, cooking techniques, local food culture and delicacy tasting will be held.

Featured tourism activities

39 fun activities related to Hanfu dressing, photo-shooting tour, exhibitions and skiing events will be launched.

9 sub-activities to call out the beauty of "China chic"

We selected some representative activities to introduce below.

The "Chang'an Lantern Show", an indispensable part of the city's Spring Festival, will debut at the Daming Palace National Heritage Park, Tang Paradise, Xi'an City Wall and other featured cultural and tourism sites in Xi'an.All kinds of local folk customs will be demonstrated through diverse forms of activities, bringing a "feast of folk culture".The Silk Road City Spring Festival Gala will bring an audio-visual feast to the viewers of countries along the Silk Road.

Musical, Drama, Opera

The most classic musicals, historical dramas and operas in Xi'an will be presented to the public.

MUSEUM

Major museums throughout the city will present diverse exhibitions and cultural experiences featuring the Spring Festival, themed with the Chinese zodiac and traditional customs.

In a featured livestreaming event, global young from countries along the Silk Road will join online. Major cultural activities will also go abroad to Australia and New Zealand to spread the Xi'an Charm.
