Shortly after the official launching of the Northwestern Polytechnical University's Kazakhstan Branch in Almaty in October last year, Northwestern A&F University and Tashkent State Agrarian University signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the joint construction of the Tashkent Branch of Northwestern A&F University.

Recently, during the state visit of Shokaty Mirzhyaev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to China, the construction of a branch university of Northwest A&F University in Tashkent was included in the framework of the state visit of the Uzbekistan President to China. President Wu Pute of Northwest A&F University and President Sulaymonov Botirjon Abdushukurovich of Tashkent State Agrarian University signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the joint construction of the Tashkent branch of Northwest A&F University.

The framework agreement for the joint construction of the branch university mainly involves majors such as agricultural economics and management, water-saving irrigation, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, as well as crop breeding, covering the education of undergraduate and graduate students.

Tashkent State Agrarian University and Tashkent University of Water Conservancy and Agricultural Mechanization Engineering in Uzbekistan are both permanent members of the Silk Road Agricultural Education Science and Technology Innovation Alliance initiated by Northwest A&F University. Within the framework of the alliance, Northwest A&F University actively promotes pragmatic cooperation with the two universities, resulting in the establishment of the Sino-Uzbek demonstration park for water-saving irrigation agriculture and smart agriculture classrooms. This cooperation has been approved as an international cooperation project between China and Uzbekistan, and has led to the joint establishment of the Tashkent Chinese Education Research Center.
