At Ankang Taida Xun Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd, located in High-tech District of Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, batches of smartphones are undergoing final assembly and debugging. In a few days, they will be distributed to mobile phone agents in Nigeria, Togo, Cameroon, and other countries from a transshipment warehouse in Dubai.

After researching the mobile-telecoms market in several African and Southeast Asian countries, the company decided to develop a phone that could accommodate multiple SIM cards.

"We did basic research in Africa, where you could easily lose cell phone signals when moving from one area to another. In the past, people would just carry multiple SIM cards to switch for backups. Then we start to think, if a phone can have two SIM cards, why can’t it have three, four, five, or even six? That’s the direction we were focusing on. Now we’re already in a trial run with the 4+1 model, namely 5 SIM cards."

"All the components of this phone, including its screen, camera, and circuit board, can be sourced locally in Ankang. From components to finished cell phone, the export process is streamlined in Ankang. We aim to develop an autonomous supply chain that not only enables us to produce and sell our own products but also allows us to supply components to others in the industry and provide manufacturing and sales services on their behalf."

Ankang Taida Xun Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd is currently working with Xi’an Jiaotong University to develop 5G lightweight technology. It plans to add smart production lines for touchscreens and cameras in the future, in a bid to complete its vertically integrated industry chain, from manufacturing components to finished products. The overseas brand of the company already generated RMB 71 million in revenue in the first seven months of this year, of which RMB 11 million came from exports.
