Recently, the first session of the 2024 Central Asian Five Countries Professional Farmer Training Program concluded, with 25 students from Kyrgyzstan successfully completing their studies in Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. These students will return to Kyrgyzstan equipped with the agricultural techniques they learned in Weinan, which will help increase the incomes of local farmers.
On November 8, 25 students from Kyrgyzstan arrived at Weinan Vocational and Technology College in Shaanxi, where they began an eight-day learning exchange program.
To implement the outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit and the second China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Weinan City, which is responsible for vocational farmer training in five Central Asian countries, plans to train 100 vocational farmers from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan this year. The training program consists of two main components: modern agricultural technology and cultural exchange. This year, the city welcomed the first group of trainees, who are vocational farmers from Kyrgyzstan. During the training, these participants learned about modern agricultural techniques, agricultural product processing, product quality and safety, and Chinese cultural characteristics.
The Chief Technical Officer from the Agricultural Development Office of Chüy Region in Kyrgyzstan stated, "In this training, I am particularly interested in cultivation techniques for greenhouse facilities. Greenhouse planting technology is quite complex and expensive in our country, resulting in relatively high costs for farmers. I want to gain a clear understanding of this technology so that I can effectively promote it in our country."
Weinan City will further enhance the training content to ensure that trainees learn agricultural technologies relevant to their own countries, becoming beneficiaries of China's agricultural exchange and cooperation with Central Asia.
