On February 12, also the Lantern Festival, the closing performance of "2025 Celebrate the Chinese New Year in Yulin · National Yangge Performance" was splendidly presented in the ancient city of Yulin. This event marked a perfect conclusion to the 7-day cultural extravaganza.
The event officially began on February 1 and ran until February 5, with the highlight occurring on February 11 and 12. 35 Yangge dance troupes from across the country, as well as four international dance groups from Russia, South Korea, Thailand, and Bulgaria, gathered in the ancient city. They presented a spectacular Yangge feast that combined tradition and innovation for both locals and tourists.

The "grand finale" on the day of Lantern Festival featured four international dance troupes: the Russian Folk Dance Ensemble "AMANAT", Phetchabun Rajabhat University Ensemble from Thailand, the Hwaseong Dance Company from South Korea, and the Bulgarian Folk Dance Ensemble "Zdravets". It also showcased seven provincial teams across the country, including Shandong, Guangxi and Shanxi, along with nine local Yangge teams from Yulin. These performances highlighted diverse cultures and narratives of cultural exchange.
This Yangge performance event serves as both a vibrant showcase of traditional culture and a platform for artistic exchange across borders. It features passionate and spirited Russian folk dances, exotic Bulgarian traditional dances, graceful South Korean dances, and lively Thai dances. The collision and fusion of these diverse cultures offer the audience a rich feast for both the eyes and the soul.
