The 2025 FIVB Volleyball Nations League (Xi'an, China) will be held at Xi'an Qujiang Sports Center from June 11 to June 15. This marks the Chinese men's national volleyball team's return to the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) this year, with the team actively preparing for the upcoming matches.
The FIVB Volleyball Nations League (VNL) is an international volleyball competition organized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and Volleyball World (world-leading volleyball information website). Launched in 2018, the VNL is held annually in a league format. This competition highlights the talents of national men's and women's volleyball teams from around the globe, further enhancing the global influence of the sport.
The Chinese men's volleyball team will face Japan, ranked World No. 6, in the opening match. Their second match will be against Serbia, ranked World No. 10, followed by games versus the Netherlands, ranked World No. 13, and Türkiye, ranked World No. 17.
In the coaching system of Vital Heynen, head coach of the Chinese men's volleyball team, the Chinese men's volleyball team training is clearly structured into three tiers: first-team starters, rotational substitutes, and youth reserves. The selected 30-man squad includes nearly all key players and rising talents of the current Chinese men's volleyball team.
Schedule
The tournament will use a single round-robin points system, with 6 teams competing in a total of 15 matches to determine the final rankings. The Chinese team is set to play four matches throughout the event.
