In Xi'an's Yanta District, the Time Culture Park, transformed from the former state-owned No.1 Clock Machinery Factory, will open to the public by the end of June. This cultural and creative block, covering 86.6 mu (5.77 hectares), will be fully rejuvenated while preserving its industrial relics.

The "predecessor" of Time Culture Park—the state-owned No.1 Clock Machinery Factory—was built in 1967 and was China's only specialized manufacturer of clock machine tools. The old plant buildings feature distinct industrial cultural characteristics.

After Xi'an was designated as one of China's first urban renewal pilot cities in 2021, the original Clock Machinery Factory site, like many "industrial relics" across the city, awaited a "rebirth journey."

After more than three years of planning, renovation, and construction, the new Time Culture Park has transformed into a diverse and integrated space while preserving the original factory structure and maintaining expansive green areas. The park is designed to serve the surrounding residents to the fullest extent.

The park is named "Time" because it was once a clock factory. The renovated Time Culture Park creatively incorporates the idea of "time zones," which are divided into four main areas: "Zone 12," "Zone West 5," "Zone East 9," and "Time Capsule.""Time" is prevalent across these four areas, which incorporate different businesses such as retail, home life, catering, and fitness.

In the renovated Time Culture Park, preserved landmark buildings like the large water tower and lawn have become popular photo spots for young people, while the giant time memory axis and old factories attract many elderly visitors to stop and reminisce.

Currently, the renovation of Time Culture Park is largely complete, with a signing rate of 80% among merchants. It will fully open to the public by the end of June.

Xi'an, with its ongoing transformations, continues to surprise us!
