The World Expo, often referred to as the "Olympic Games of the global economy, science and technology, and culture," serves as an important platform for nations to encourage mutual learning among civilizations and promote social prosperity and progress. Expo 2025 Osaka, with the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives," takes place at the Yumeshima waterfront site in Osaka, Japan, from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is organizing the China Pavilion on behalf of the Chinese government.

The Shaanxi Week at the China Pavilion is hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and organized by the Shaanxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade. During the event, a series of integrated activities will be held. Highlights include the "Four Seasons of Sanqin" Culture and Tourism Promotion Conference, the "Chronicles of Sanqin" Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, an oil painting exhibition themed around the Crested Ibis, and a Crested Ibis release event. These activities will spotlight Shaanxi's cultural and ecological products.

Simultaneously, supporting events will take place outside the Expo site to promote multifaceted economic and trade cooperation. These include the China (Shaanxi)-Japan Economic and Trade Cooperation Symposium, the China-Japan Silver Economy Development Signing Ceremony and Exchange Series, the China (Xi'an)-Japan Economic and Trade Promotion Exchange, the China (Tongchuan)-Japan (Tokyo) Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference, and the China (Yulin)-Japan (Nara) Agricultural Exchange Conference.

During the event, Shaanxi will showcase captivating intangible cultural heritage (ICH) performances and unique cultural shows, including Xi'an Guyue (Xi'an Drum Music, a UNESCO ICH), rod and string puppetry, Guochao magic, and ancient Chinese magic. Interactive activities, such as Tang Dynasty tea brewing, Mashao facial masks, and paper cutting, will also be available. These displays aim to enhance international cultural exchange and promote mutual understanding among civilizations at the Expo.

In recent years, Shaanxi has participated in Expo 2010 Shanghai, Expo 2017 Astana, the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing, and Expo 2020 Dubai. Through these major international events, Shaanxi has showcased its openness, development, and magnificent beauty to the global community, achieving excellent results and continuously expanding its international influence.

The Shaanxi Week at the China Pavilion during Expo 2025 in Osaka presents a significant opportunity for Shaanxi to showcase its image and developmental achievements to a global audience. This event will enhance the understanding of Shaanxi in Japan and other countries, while also promoting extensive exchanges and cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, science and technology, culture, and tourism.
