Phase 1 of Metro Line 15 in Xi'an, which is the final project of the city's Phase III rail transit plan and the only new line scheduled to open this year, will begin initial operations in the fourth quarter. This line will create an east-west passenger corridor in the southern part of the main urban area.

With a total length of approximately 19.46 kilometers, the line starts from Xiliu Station in the west and ends at Dongzhaoyu Station in the east, with 13 stations in total. Upon opening, it will interchange with Metro Line 2 at Hangtiancheng Station, Line 4 at Dongchanganjie Station, and Line 6 at Guoduxi Station.

Up to now, all 13 stations along the line have been capped. The main line tunnels have achieved the goals of tunnel breakthrough, long rail connection, power supply, and three key milestones in the communication system. The main substation at Xiliu Station has been completed and put into use, and EMU debugging for the entire line has been launched.
