Recently, "Echoes of Civilizations: 2025 International Youth Poetry Festival (Special Session for Young Poets from China, Latin America and the Caribbean)" commenced in Xi'an.
The International Youth Poetry Festival evolved from the "Youth Poetry Festival," established in 1980 by Poetry Journal, a publication of the China Writers Association. The "First International Youth Poetry Festival–Special Session for Young Poets from BRIC countries" was a new initiative built upon this foundation, aiming to use poetry and literature to foster dialogue between different civilizations, enhance mutual understanding, and promote cross-cultural exchange.

This year's International Youth Poetry Festival brought together forty young poets from fifteen Latin American nations and thirty-seven Chinese poets for a celebration of poetry and cross-cultural friendship.
The event featured a diverse array of artistic performances that integrated poetry with stage arts, highlighting a rich convergence of cultures. Through dance, music, and multilingual recitations, the performances conveyed themes of unity, emotional storytelling, and cultural exchange. The atmosphere culminated in a spirited theme song that celebrated the energy and passion of youth.
Over the coming days, the poets will participate in a range of cultural activities across Xi'an, Shangluo, and Beijing, including poetry readings, academic dialogues, seminars, and field visits. This gathering will foster deeper mutual learning and cultural exchange between Chinese and Latin American civilizations, marking a new chapter in their poetic exchange.
