At 7:30 a.m. on October 19, 2025 Xi'an Marathon began at Yongning Gate, drawing 38,000 runners from across the country. Participants experienced the rich history, beautiful ecology, and vibrant modernization of Xi'an during this late autumn event.

With the starting gun, runners departed from Yongning Gate, maneuvered through the Bell Tower and the ancient city wall, aiming for the half-marathon finish at the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center and the full-marathon finish at Xi'an Olympic Sports Center.

The Xi'an Marathon route is an urban corridor "from the past to the future." Starting at Yongning Gate, the Bell Tower, and the ancient city wall highlight Xi'an's rich dynastic heritage, while the Chanba International Harbor showcases the city's modern ecological development. 

Wang Hongwei claimed the men's marathon title with a time of 02:13:25, while Huang Fei secured the women's championship with a time of 02:31:02.

The organizing committee established 40 cultural support stations along the route, featuring performances like drum music, traditional dance, and cheerleading to energize the runners.

The Xi'an Marathon offers a cultural exploration of the "Capital of Tang Poetry." The route links iconic sites like Daming Palace, Bahe River, and Weihe River embankment, along with Tang Poetry-inspired check-in spots, transforming the run into a poetic journey through millennial history.

During the event, the 2025 2nd Duxiaoman Xi'an Sports Consumption Carnival and the 3rd Western China Consumer Products Expo took place simultaneously. The exhibition featured sports equipment, cultural products, smart technology, local cuisine, and cultural tourism. Runners enjoyed food, purchased unique products, and explored the exhibition, boosting sports consumption in the process.

This year's Xi'an Marathon promotes the integration of "sports + cultural tourism." Runners can enjoy discounts on attractions, dining, hotels, and sports venues with their wristbands or participation certificates, enhancing the "participation + tourism" experience and allowing runners and their families to fully appreciate Xi'an's urban charm.

This run not only enhanced sports consumption and encouraged national fitness but also showcased Xi'an's vitality, openness, and inclusiveness as a historic capital.
