The "2025 Xi'an International VR Film Week – AI & XR Innovation Conference" was held on October 22 at Xi'an XR Film Industry Base (located at Xi'an Film Studio Cultural Creative Park). It showcased Xi'an Film Group's latest AI and XR innovations and explored their impact on China's film industry.

Unveiling of the Virtual Reality Film Technology Innovation Center

Officially unveiled at the conference, China's first Virtual Reality Film Technology Innovation Center was established at Xi'an XR Film Industry Base. This authoritative institution is tasked with formulating industry standards and providing comprehensive services, including technology R&D, quality testing, and project certification for virtual reality films.

At the conference, Xiying (Xi'an Film Group) Boundless Cinema was put into operation at Xi'an Film Studio. Seats, headsets, and the broadcast-control system are now mass-produced and operational. Attendees of the conference noted that dedicated-seat VR viewing will reshape traditional cinemas and expand into homes, malls, sports venues, and tourist sites, ushering in a more inclusive, diverse, and human-centered "future cinema."

The dedicated seats for seated-view virtual reality films are independently developed by Xi'an Film Group, with core functions including potential energy control, 6DOF (6 Degrees of Freedom) spatial interaction, and 360° all-around rotation.

The customized headsets integrate featured technology like gesture recognition, eye tracking, and spatial audio to deliver binocular 8K clarity and an ultra‑wide field of view. By cutting typical headset weight from 300–600g to 180g, they improve comfort and session length—enabling long-form storytelling and realizing the "one seat is a cinema" concept.
