The 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue kicks off in Xi'an from April 27 to 29. Gathering at the ancient Silk Road's starting point, global leaders will unite to bridge technology and heritage, charting a collective course for sustainable and high-quality urban growth.

During the event, guests will take targeted field visits to gain a full picture of Xi'an's refined and smart urban governance, low-carbon growth, advanced manufacturing and hard-tech strengths. They will also learn about the city's pivotal role under the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as its practices in technological cultural heritage protection and the integrated development of historical heritage and modern urban progress.

Two dialogue events will be held at the Xi'an XR Film Industry Base and Geely's manufacturing base in Xi'an, exploring low-carbon smart city development and new growth momentum for Silk Road cities, also with in-depth discussions on heritage revitalization, architectural integration, smart cultural tourism, knowledge sharing, and industrial cooperation. 

The main session will then feature urban practices in cultural heritage, smart governance, green transition, digital upgrading, and joint urban governance, aimed at advancing pragmatic cooperation.

Throughout the event, guests will also savor authentic Xi'an cuisine, appreciate cultural shows and intangible cultural heritage displays, and enjoy the city's night scenery, further enhancing friendship among participating cities.
