Embassy event brings Shaanxi to Washington, D.C.

On May 2 (US local time), the Chinese Embassy in the United States hosted an Open Day and a promotional event for Shaanxi Province.Over 7,000 local residents attended the event. Crowds lined up outside the embassy, with queues stretching around street corners.Artists from Xi'an, Shaanxi, opened the event with a splendid showcase. The program featured a mix of festive and graceful dances alongside dynamic instrumental arrangements, culminating in creative fusions of Chinese and Western musical traditions.

Guests also enjoyed interactive heritage crafts, traditional games, and face painting. Local Shaanxi delicacies were a major hit, while photo exhibitions and creative cultural booths drew significant crowds.

Visitors noted the open day deepened their insight into Shaanxi's culture and folk traditions, and expressed their wish to visit the Terracotta Army in Xi'an and see giant pandas in the Qinling Mountains.
