On May 7, Xi'an East Station marked a major construction milestone. China Railway Xi'an Bureau Group officially kicked off static acceptance for its station building and supporting works, signalling this mega northwest China railway hub has entered the key completion inspection stage and paved the way for its official opening.

Static acceptance is a core procedure for new railway completion checks. It conducts a full inspection of engineering quality, equipment performance and construction standards to verify scheduled operational readiness.

The first phase of this static acceptance takes place from May 7 to May 9, covering its metal roof, elevated waiting hall, underground structures, parking lot and HVAC facilities for a full inspection of the station and auxiliary works.

Xi'an East Station sits in the core area of Baqiao District. The station boasts a total floor area of 394,000 m², 100,000 m² for the main station building. It features 13 platforms and 27 tracks. Integrating high-speed rail, conventional rail, metro and public transit, it is designed to handle 36.5 million passengers annually.
Xi'an East Station is scheduled to open in June this year in tandem with the Xi'an–Ankang High-speed Railway. Upon launch, travel from Xi'an to Shiyan will take just 1 hour, to Wuhan 3 hours, and to Yan'an under 1 hour, greatly shortening the travel time between Guanzhong area, southern and northern Shaanxi.
