Recently, the trains for Bogotá's Metro Line 1, built by Chinese enterprises, successfully completed their first main line test.

Carlos Fernando Galán, the Mayor of Bogotá, attended the event and noted that the project has now reached nearly 78% completion. Once operational, the metro will greatly facilitate public travel and transform people's daily lives.

As Bogotá's first metro line, it stretches 23.96 kilometers in total and is scheduled to open in 2028. Connecting the city center, southern and northern districts, it will directly benefit around 2.9 million residents.

In 2019, a joint venture comprising China Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. and Xi'an Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. won the bid for the Bogotá Metro Line 1 project in Colombia.

To date, two groups of Colombian trainees have completed full-cycle training at Xi'an Metro, ranging from rail transit equipment manufacturing, design and commissioning to fault handling and service standards. Xi'an Metro has also assisted in drawing up local metro operation rules for Colombia. Its proven technologies and premium services extend across Latin America, boosting its influence and reputation in the global rail transit industry.
