On June 15, all interior and exterior decoration work at Xi'an East Railway Station was fully completed, marking that this major comprehensive transport hub in Northwest China has entered its final finishing phase.

Spanning 36,000 square meters, the facade combines seven curtain wall materials, such as aluminum plates and photovoltaic glass. Its palette of Tang-style golden wood and sleek white fuses ancient Tang aesthetics with contemporary high-speed rail architecture.

Five sets of continuous arched structures form a distinctive W-shaped, Silk Road-themed facade. Beneath them, 500 m² of photovoltaic glass comprise China's first fully irregular, outward-tilting curved integrated LED photovoltaic curtain wall for a high-speed railway station.
Thirty V-shaped Tang-style wooden grilles provide efficient shading. Paired with 31 curved eave supports and two large slanting columns, they shape a graceful flying wild goose outline.

The waiting hall creates an immersive Tang-dynasty ambiance, merging over 15 Tang and Xi'an local design elements to display timeless Tang charm throughout the space.

Boasting the largest caisson ceiling in Northwest China with a total area of over 90,000 square meters, the waiting hall combines traditional Chinese caisson structures and Tang-era flat coffered ceilings. The layered diamond grid layout vividly reproduces the 108 wards of ancient Chang'an City. Precisely aligned with roof skylights, the ceiling creates seven natural light wells to cut energy consumption via natural illumination.
The dedicated transfer corridor from the arrival level to Metro Line 5 is now open. "Passengers can walk to the metro in five minutes without detours, with Lines 12, 15 and 21 to connect later," said Yang Yongxing, Assistant Engineer of Xi'an East Railway Station.
Xi'an East Railway Station sits adjacent to major urban thoroughfares, including the Ring Expressway, Third Ring Fast Road, and National Highway 210, offering highly convenient road transport access.

As a major comprehensive railway transport hub in Northwest China, the station is expected to handle 36.5 million passenger departures annually after operation, significantly easing passenger flow pressure on Xi'an's railway network.
