On June 15, Shanghai Ranking, a higher education evaluation institute, released the 2026 Ranking of Academic Subjects of Chinese Universities, covering 838 majors across 92 discipline categories and 13 major academic branches.

The ranking shows Peking University takes the national lead with 93 A+ majors, followed by Tsinghua University with 57 and Harbin Institute of Technology with 51.A total of 1,338 majors from 49 universities in Shaanxi Province made it to the 2026 ranking, including 90 A+, 241 A, 567 B+ and 440 B majors.

Fourteen universities in Shaanxi boast a combined 90 top-tier A+ majors. Northwestern Polytechnical University tops the province with 25 A+ majors, closely followed by Xi'an Jiaotong University with 24.Xidian University (12) and Northwest A&F University (10) also demonstrate outstanding strength with at least 10 A+ majors each.

Thirty majors from 10 universities in Shaanxi rank first nationwide.
