The wild golden monkeys of the Qinling Mountains usually live in deep forests at high altitudes, in groups, and seldom come down from the mountains. Yet with the arrival of spring and rising temperatures, the monkeys occasionally come down to the mountains to search for fresh shoots of vegetation for food. In recent years, with the continuous establishment and expansion of the protected area, the number of wild golden monkeys in the Qinling Mountains has increased significantly over the past few decades, and the effective protection of the forest resources in the Qinling Mountains has provided the monkeys with a more suitable habitat.
