On April 4, the media group of the 2025 National Network Media Exploration of the Chinese Roots with the theme of “Shared Roots, Shared Ancestry” arrived in Huangling County, Yan'an Prefecture and enjoyed the beauty of millennia-old cypresses. Xu Ying, an American of Chinese descent who has lived abroad for more than 20 years, was invited to participate in the event. Seeing the 5,000-year-old trees and learning about the stories behind them, she marveled at their tenacious vitality over the past millennia and the current development of technology related to the protection of local ancient cypresses.
