The messenger of summer

The pomegranate flowers are always blooming in the sun. Clusters of red pomegranate flowers are dotted in the summer greenery, adding a little brightness and vitality.

The pomegranate was originally grown in Persia (today's Iran). During the Western Han Dynasty, Zhang Qian introduced it from the West to China. Pomegranate is particularly popular among Chinese who long for more children and blessings because of its red prosperous color, sweet and sour taste, and plentiful seeds.

        

The pomegranate flower is the city flower of Xi'an, symbolizing the enthusiasm, openness, and inclusiveness of the international metropolis. At the same time, the pomegranate flower is also a name card of Xi'an, which embodies the harmony between people and nature in the Guanzhong Plain.

Lintong Pomegranate Garden

From 2017, Lintong holds the Longhe Pomegranate Flower Festival in early summer every year to show the unique charm of pomegranate flowers.

For the past two thousand years, 80,000 mu pomegranate trees have been planted in Lintong, with an annual output of over 80,000 tons of fresh pomegranate.

Look! How bright and beautiful the pomegranate flowers are all over the mountains. Some are still in bud, yet some are already in full bloom, showing their delicate petals.

Sit in the pomegranate garden, make a cup of tea and feel the breeze in the mountains against the blue sky and white clouds. It is really a good way to escape the summer heat!

Xi'an Olympic Sports Center                             

    

The exterior design of the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center, which was completed and delivered on July 1, is derived from pomegranate flower, the city flower of Xi'an.

After three years, the largest sports center in the Northwest was finally completed! This stadium is an eye-catching "steel pomegranate flower" blooming in this summer!

                        

The Xi'an Olympic Sports Center Stadium covers an area of 106,000 square meters. The construction area of the stadium is up to 156,000 square meters, and the main stadium can accommodate 60,000 people.          

           

The playing field is designed according to the standard 400-meter comprehensive track and field, with a total of 9 circular runways and 10 straight runways, including an international football field.

A large number of floodlights were installed in the main stadium. The combination of a flexible curved perforated curtain wall and customized LED lights creates a fantasy effect of pomegranate flower blooming and silk ribbon flying.

         

Translucent sunlight panels and metal curtain walls can serve as display screens to present a variety of night scenes in different modes and different scenes, making the whole building more dynamic and energetic.

        

As night fell, the "steel pomegranate flower" was lit up as expected under the hazy night.   

   

In 2021, the opening and closing ceremonies of the 14th National Games and a number of important sports activities such as track and field, gymnastics, swimming, and diving will be held here. In the future, Xi'an Olympic Sports Center will also be the venue for many large-scale events.
