"Making the city better" has never been just a slogan in Xi'an, citizens can literally see many infrastructural projects developed in these years, and the urban environment is getting better.The city parks, in particular, have always been the top choice for people to enjoy the leisure and have work outs.

         

The Happiness Green Belt, a new landmark park of Xi'an, will be open to public soon. It is located right in the middle between the Happiness Road and Wanshou Road, which also connects the Chanba district at north and Qujiang district at south. The construction project is among one of the largest projects in the globe focusing on underground space utilization.

5.85 km long green valley in the city

The design of the park centers around the concept of "a belt-shaped green valley", which is constituted with three themed sections, namely the "fitness", "green" and "entertainment".

         

The plant species in the park are divided into five categories: deciduous trees, evergreen trees, deciduous shrubs, evergreen shrubs and ground cover flowers, with more than 230 species in total and green coverage rate as 85%. It is an ecological barrier and natural oxygen bar to improve the environment in the east of the city.

Multi-functional underground space

The underground space of the park is divided into three levels, each of which carries a different urban function.

Basement level: commercial facilities for shopping, catering, leisure, and entertainment;

The second underground floor: parking lot with an area of 320,000 square meters for more than 9,000 vehicles;

The third underground floor: underground metro track. The planned metro Line 8 will travel beneath the park, intersecting with the Line 1, Line 6 in construction and the Line 7 at Changying Road, Changle Road, and Xianning Road, with three corresponding transfer stations.

       

The Happiness Green Belt will be the perfect combination of city and nature, bringing the highlights of the urban landscape art to the city.
